Born in Hawaii, Shalei grew up with a vagabond spirit—by 15, she had already lived in five states, attended countless schools, and followed her single mother’s search for home. After high school, she continued her adventures with stints in Minneapolis, Los Angeles, and London. A call from a friend eventually drew her to Portland, Oregon, and to this day, it remains the first place she’s ever really put down roots.
For Shalei, Portland is more than a city; it’s the first place that gave her the true feeling of home. Surrounded by volcanic backdrops, endless waterfalls, and lush greenery, its natural beauty pairs perfectly with the eclectic city life of music, art, vintage treasures, and great food. She has lived in different neighborhoods throughout the city but feels most rooted in SE Richmond, close to Mount Tabor, where she can walk to coffee shops, explore local boutiques, and let her dog run free at the park.
Before real estate, Shalei spent 12 years as a flight attendant—an experience she jokingly calls her “realtor training.” Like real estate, every flight was different and required patience, quick thinking, and the ability to calmly navigate unexpected challenges. Encouraged by a friend who recognized her talents, she transitioned into real estate, where her love of old homes, architecture, and design made the leap seamless.
As both a realtor and interior designer, Shalei blends her expertise to guide clients through every step—from finding the right home to shaping it into a reflection of their unique style. Her approach is rooted in honesty, and transparency, while her interiors emphasize timeless design layered with vintage and antique pieces. Inspired by her Hawaiian roots, global travels, and love of natural materials, she creates spaces that feel considered, collected, and connected.
Outside of work, Shalei enjoys exploring Portland with her partner and pup, renovating their 1928 English Cottage, hunting estate sales, or traveling abroad with her camera in hand. She dabbles in pottery, knits through the winter, sings karaoke without hesitation, and continues her French studies at Portland Community College. Travel photography is one of her great passions, and she dreams of publishing a series of coffee-table books featuring her work.
