Giving
Accountability
Since we spend most of our time helping clients buy and sell homes, it’s crucial that we invest in community-based organizations spending most of their time making Portland and Oregon a more just place to live. Social engagement is one of our fundamental principles: Neighbors agents regularly donate time and a portion of our commission to a variety of local nonprofits in the Portland metro area.
We’re focusing our philanthropy and giving efforts on housing justice and ending homelessness with HereTogether Oregon and Central City Concern, healthcare for unhoused communities with Outside In, reviving homes for local Black families with Taking Ownership PDX, and helping BIPOC Portlanders build and retain generational wealth through homeownership with REPAIR. Another cause close to our hearts is CampOUT Portland, a locally operated LGBTQ+ youth empowerment summer camp.
We believe in giving more than just money: Neighbors Realty provides free meeting space for Portland Public School teachers and printing services for the local nonprofit Vanport Mosaic and Mr. Kent Ford, who leads Power to the People: Black Panther Party Legacy Tour of Albina. Our agents participate in a series of regular volunteering opportunities throughout the year, processing donation inventory for women and children at Rose Haven, build days at Habitat for Humanity Portland, and providing free yard work for local seniors with H.O.P.E. (Honoring Our Precious Elders).
We want to be accountable to the communities we’ve committed to supporting. To do that, we are sharing information not normally made available by private companies— our year-to-date giving.
