Sold Over Asking: Renovated 1916 Roseway Bungalow with ADU | Neighbors Realty

A Craftsman Bungalow with custom updates by a woodworker in Roseway, Portland

The fully updated 1916 bungalow at 3103 NE 71st Avenue in Roseway was sold by Neighbors agent Becca Barron on September 26, 2025, for $775,000. That’s $30,000 over its $745,000 asking price. It drew an offer within a week of listing on August 13 and caught the attention of Portland Monthly and The Oregonian along the way.

What buyers saw

Portland Monthly called it an “everyday house,” which is what made the renovation stand out. A standard Roseway bungalow became a 5-bedroom, 3-bath home with 2,317 square feet and custom craftsmanship throughout:

  • A kitchen with custom white oak cabinets, white concrete countertops, handmade pulls, a Viking cooktop and a vaulted, skylit ceiling

  • An enclosed front porch, a custom front door and a refreshed cedar shingle facade

  • A reading nook with zellige tile, refinished original floors and a fireplace with an ash wood mantel

  • A basement that went from dirt floors to two egress bedrooms and a full bathroom

  • A fully permitted ADU with its own kitchen, bathroom and AC

  • A backyard with a cedar deck, garden beds, a firepit, a grill station and a hot tub

Why it sold over asking

Buyers on Portland’s close-in east side pay a premium for homes that are move-in ready, full of character and flexible. This one had extra bedrooms in the finished basement, an ADU for guests, family, a home office or rental income, and the kind of custom detail that’s hard to find in a flip. Pricing it right and presenting it well brought strong interest in the first week.
